I remember back in day reading “the last enemy to conquer is death” . Tonight one step closer to winning that war. Can’t wait around for Kurtzweil – I say why don’t we all just take it upon ourselves to win for ourselves. I want to live – I have to live – way to much to live for
– Funny how sometimes its as simple as well simply tasting life. I have tasted and seen with my own eyes – by the way that’s what faith is – seeing – you can’t believe anything till you see it.
There are things in life you always hope and dream to be true and then you see them and you know it’s true. A huge gap between hope and seeing. Maybe the gap is only time. So to that I have to sing Wilson Phillips ” I know that there is pain – break free from the chains -things are gonna change – hold on for one more day ”
Feelings are so exalted in our culture. In some ways they’ve become our gods and we establish our shrines, our temples, our homes, our lives around how something feels. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with feelings it’s just that we place them on the thrones and our lives become subject to them.
I wonder what would happen if we just sat on our own thrones no matter how we felt or agreed or disagreed. What I mean is, if you’re sitting in your life and in a place of peace and authority, then you’re the king or the queen of yourself. Then, no matter how I felt about it – happy, sad, jealous, envious, mad, etc – well, it wouldn’t matter, would it!
I’d be a fool not to support and acknowledge a king or a queen. But I’ll be damned if I’ll bow to some imposter who has set up court and whose name is happy or sad or envy or greed – whose name is only a feeling.
Don’t get me wrong I love this planet and I want to see it last for millions and millions of years. I might even still be here to enjoy it then if Ray Kurzweil is right.
So please don’t take this story the wrong way. I hug trees when I’m out for walks. I hug the curve too.
Today I went to my local grocery store with a mission. Food. A man’s gotta eat. You’ve got to understand that my local grocery store is a whole 5 minute drive from my place of residence, 10 minutes if you include a slide through Tim Horton’s, which is usually the case for me. This small bit of information should help you empathize with me in a few moments.
I get to my local grocery store and realized that I had left my precious green boxes at the top of my stairs. I’m all the way out here and find myself in a bit of an ethical dilemma. … Continue Reading
