   Two more cents from Weebs.
   Jesus references to Hell 70 times with a total of 162 references in the NT.
   Matt 5:22,Matt10:28,Matt11:23,Matt23:33,Mar9:43,Luk12;5,Luk16:23
   If one does believe the Bible is God’s true word then Hell is part of the equation. If you believe the Bible is a chinese menu that you can pick and choose from, then of course Hell will be left off the dinner service.
   “A soul without the Holy Spirit cannot be content or at peace”.

   Once again appreciate you taking the time to post and comment.

   Perhaps it didn’t come across clearly in the podcast and I can’t speak for Shane but I know I certainly wasn’t trying to take Hell out of the equation. My concern was more about how it has been defined and interpreted since Constantine made Christianity the national religion of Rome. Since that time Hell was used as a term and image to instill fear where Jesus and Paul and John talked about a place where all of the nasty stuff in our minds could be eliminated. A beautiful, wonderful place and trust me I have been there many times and every time I have left things there never to return. As far as the east is from the west comes to mind. God is a consuming fire comes to mind. Perhaps on an upcoming podcast I’ll tell the story of the time I literally went there.

   I haven’t cracked open the bible for a long time but if my memory serves me right Jesus always talked of hell in context of the body and ridding ourselves of the dark things in our minds and the separation of the wheat from the chaff etc. Isn’t that a good thing? The verse that comes to mind is where he says something to the effect If your right eye offends thee pluck it out as it isn’t profitable that your whole body should perish and be cast into hell. Another verse I think says something like Depart from me, ye cursed into everlasting fire. And trust me there have been things in my mind that have been cursed thoughts. I think that verse actually goes on to say something about a place prepared for the devil and his angels (demons) and again I always have to go back to the original text where the true word is not devil or demons but ‘knowledge’ which then leads me back to the origin of ‘sin’ The knowledge of good and evil and that I am pretty sure is why we die and it is why we judge one another. Paul said “Judge not lest ye be judged and went on to say..The strength of sin is the Law..and I think the Law is a bunch of rules based on this knowledge of good and evil. In fact I think that probably the simplist way to sum up what sin is having the knowledge that there is good and there is evil. Jesus said “hang the law and the prophets” wonder what he was talking about. He said I come to show you a new and living way. I think Jesus’s message was summed up by Paul saying “Put on the whole mind of Christ” not just part of it all of it. I’m sorry I’m gonna have to find a bible lol instead of quoting all of this from memory but I’m telling you my spirit is fired up in a good way and I appreciate this dialogue with you. And you brotha are inspiring me to pull the ol book out if I can find it – so thanks – really I mean that.

   Please don’t think Shane and I are trying to preach or expound truth or are saying this is the way it is we are just a couple of guys trying to find our way and I have seen so many things in my life that I know life is greater than just me. I know there is something bigger and when I was younger and studied the bible and just meditated on it It’s words inspired and spoke to me a totally different message than what the church has taught. I’m not saying I’m right but I also know that we are only scratching the surface of truth and I, like Paul want to know it all and I believe that what Jesus said is true. As I am so are you and I and the Father are one. So I guess that means you and the Father and me and the Father are one.

   I know where you are coming from as well and I think that’s ok to as long as we are living in love and loving our neighbours as ourselves. I know alot of people find comfort in God and religion and I would be last one to try and take that away from anyone. For me its like Paul said ” work out your own salvation with fear and trembling before God ”

   I agree with you that we can and must be led by the holy spirit and like Paul said again “Those that who are led by my spirit they are the sons of God”. I guess that’s just it. I’ve seen to much to not believe the idea that I am a son of God but also in that observation I see that we all are. Every one of us. That’s something I know within myself. I know that I am no better or no worse than anyone else. I am a new creation a brand new man. That to me is awesome and really I think if the message of Christ could be summed up it would be to let everyone know who they really are and what their full potential is. Peter said it best I think it was Hebrews 9 where he talks about how the way things used to work with the priests and the sacrifices and all the rules and regulations and then goes on to something like “how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God….For a will of testament is of force after men are dead….It is appointed unto men once to die and after this the judgment…So Christ once and for all offered to bear the sins of many and if you look to him he will appear a second time without sin. I am pretty sure Jesus said in the same way as I left so I will return. I am pretty sure he ascended on a cloud. The quesiton is what is the cloud. Again back to the original text – the cloud was interpreted from the word People or humanity. When is the judgement. Jesus said the new day is now and the kingdom is at hand. I have a feeling it already happened. The new heaven and the new earth they are all here right now we just need to as Paul said “awake from our sleep”

   Anyways enough rambling but Weebs thanks for being the catalyst – writing this was like a rock being removed from a well. A well I didn’t know was even there and I guess I’m not done cause I’m hearing one more thing ( not in the Steve Job’s sort of way lol) But the words are these “Out or YOUR inner most belly shall flow the rivers of living water”.

   Thats you, thats me, thats the guy down the street, that’s us all. The only hope this world has is “Let god arise” not let god come down…let God arise. Just one more verse comes to mind and I’ll shut up lol ” The whole earth groans for the manifistation of the sons of God”…it’s plural…its us and it’s the only hope we have. If we don’t fix it it won’t get fixed.

   Thanks weeb again for your participation and thank you Mark for such an eloquent reply; good food for my soul.

   My 2 cents here is simply this: the worst thing you can do to me is IGNORE me! Detest me or adore me but if you ignore me I am undone. To judge someone as evil or to say “Go to hell!” is to ultimately ignore them.

   If religion does not translate into loving another physical human being more your religion is futile.

   Thank US that I do not believe in hell anymore. Thank GOD that through the GREAT CONSCIOUSNESS I am one with the universe and there is no death there, no sorrow.

   My HOPE is that more and more people will realize they do not have to bow down to any other than themselves. Once the humility of knowing WE R GOD infuses the heart all the knowing of the universe will pour into the soul making one whole.

   Always note I am always searching for GOD and as of late I DO believe WE R GOD but still hold out the HOPE of a MAKER. God bless weeb. Until next time…

   Keep searching Mark and Shane. My prayer is that if Christ really is the only way, he will reveal that to you some how.
